Penn State Women’s Lacrosse Rises To No. 14, Men’s Lacrosse Stays At No. 5 In Latest Rankings

Penn State women’s lacrosse jumped four spots in the latest national rankings Monday, while the men’s team held on to the No. 5 spot.

Women’s lacrosse improved from No. 18 to No. 14 on the heels of a 12-7 upset victory over No. 10 Maryland on Thursday night.

The win pushed the women to an 11-4 overall record and a 3-2 Big Ten record before their final game of the regular season. The Nittany Lions face Johns Hopkins at noon on Saturday, April 22, in Baltimore before looking ahead to the Big Ten Tournament.

Penn State men’s lacrosse stayed at the No. 5 spot for the second consecutive week after an 11-9 come-from-behind victory over No. 16 Michigan Sunday night in Ann Arbor.

The men now hold an 8-3 overall record and a 3-1 Big Ten record. The Nittany Lions will face No. 11 Rutgers in their final regular season game before the Big Ten Tournament at 6 p.m. on Friday, April 21 at Panzer Stadium.
