Student Farm Club To Host Annual Plant Sale April 28

Penn State’s Student Farm Club is hosting its ninth annual plant sale on Friday, April 28, at the Tyson greenhouses on Curtin Road. From noon to 5 p.m., vegetables, succulents, and natives will be available for purchase. Customers who are immunocompromised or have mobility challenges can shop from 10:30 to 11 a.m., too.

The sale is by cash or check only, and you must bring your own box.

Student Farm Club members seed, propagate, and raise all of their crops. There will be over 100 varieties of vegetables, herbs, and flowers, 21 tomato varieties, and 26 varieties of natives, which are sourced through Tait Farm.

Vegetable and herb seedlings are $2.50 each or 10 for $20. Localized varieties are available in minimums of six plants for $10. Succulents start at $5 in teacups and decorative bowls, and special student-crafted pots made through a collaboration with the Ceramics Club will be $15 to $40. Native plants are $7.50 each or three for $20.

You can also check out the Student Farm Club’s plant guide for tips and tricks related to temperature, when to plant, and more.
