Penn State Baseball-Iowa’s April 28 Matchup Postponed Due To Rain

Penn State baseball’s series opener against Iowa, originally scheduled for 6 p.m. on Friday, April 28, at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park, will be postponed due to rainy weather forecasted in Happy Valley, the team announced on Friday.

Friday’s game will be adjusted to a doubleheader format on Saturday, April 29. Play will begin at 1 p.m. and 4:30 p.m., respectively, on Saturday at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park.

The series finale against Iowa will continue as scheduled at 1 p.m. on Sunday, April 30.

Folks in attendance can still celebrate National Superhero Day during game one of Saturday’s doubleheader, and postgame autographs and a trading card giveaway will take place following game two. Postgame fireworks have been rescheduled to Friday, May 19, after the conclusion of the Nittany Lions’ second game against Maryland.

On Sunday, April 30, the Nittany Lions will still celebrate Vs. Cancer Day and kids in attendance can run the bases after the game’s over.

Penn State enters Saturday’s series with a 23-14 overall record, but coming straight off a road loss to West Virginia on April 25.

Following the conclusion of the team’s outing against Iowa, the Nittany Lions will hit the road and head east to face Rutgers for a three-game series in Piscataway beginning on Friday, May 5.
