Former Penn State Tight End Zack Kuntz Drafted No. 220 Overall By New York Jets

Former Penn State and Old Dominion tight end Zack Kuntz was drafted by the New York Jets with the No. 220 overall pick in the seventh round of the 2023 NFL Draft on Saturday afternoon.

Kuntz declared for the NFL Draft in December following his senior season with Old Dominion. In his two seasons in Happy Valley, Kuntz recorded just three catches for 26 yards before transferring out of the program.

At Old Dominion, Kuntz experienced a career resurgence. In his first season with the Monarchs, Kuntz totaled 692 yards and five touchdowns on 73 catches. Kuntz finished off his 2021 campaign with an all-conference selection as well.

In 2022, Kuntz started the first five games of the season before suffering a season-ending injury. Kuntz finished the year with 144 yards and a pair of touchdown grabs, as he shifted his focus to the pros.

Kuntz will begin his NFL career under head coach Robert Saleh and offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett in the Big Apple.
