State College Borough Releases Graduation Weekend Parking Details

Graduation is near, Penn Staters!

To combat the influx of out-of-town visitors, there will be changes to the parking situation downtown starting on Friday, May 5.

One-hour and two-hour parking restrictions and the no parking from 2 to 6 a.m. rule will not be enforced over the weekend. Restrictions will be lifted at noon on Friday, May 5, and will go back into effect at 2 a.m. on Monday, May 8.

Other restrictions will still be strictly enforced, however. The rules include no parking on the sidewalk, within an intersection, on a crosswalk, within 20 feet of a crosswalk at an intersection, within 30 feet of a stop sign, over 12 inches from the curb, against traffic, and in front of a driveway. Lawn parking will also not be permitted.

All metered parking will be enforced from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Cars in violation of any standing regulations will be subject to ticketing or towing.

Questions can be directed to the State College Parking Department, which can be reached at 814-278-4769 or parkingdept@statecollegepa.us.

Congratulations and enjoy the weekend, folks!
