Vermont Forward Jacques Bouquot Commits To Penn State Men’s Hockey
Vermont forward Jacques Bouquot announced his transfer to Penn State men’s hockey Monday afternoon.
Bouquot will arrive in Happy Valley with one year of eligibility remaining.
Bouquot spent his first four years of collegiate hockey in Burlington with the Catamounts. Bouquot recorded 33 appearances as a college rookie, led Vermont in assists, and was second on the team in points in his freshman season.
The following season, the South Windsor, Connecticut, native registered 12 appearances in the Catamounts’ shortened season due to COVID-19 and finished the campaign with one point through five games. As a junior, Bouquot led Vermont in points and assists, while serving as an alternate team captain.
Most recently, the 6’1″ forward tallied five goals, 10 assists, and 15 points in the Catamounts’ 11-20-5 season in the Hockey East conference.
The Nittany Lions are fresh off a 10-13-1 conference season and a third-place finish in the Big Ten. Head coach Guy Gadowsky’s crew made its way to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2018 until losing in the tournament quarterfinals to conference foe Michigan.
Bouquot’s experience and statistical consistency will prove valuable to Gadowsky and the Nittany Lions in the 2023-24 season.
