Penn State Student Affairs’ Brian Patchcoski Named One Of Pennsylvania’s Most Influential LGBTQ+ Leaders

Penn State’s Assistant Vice President of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in Student Affairs Brian Patchcoski was named one of Pennsylvania’s 100 most influential LGBTQ+ leaders by City and State Pennsylvania, the organization announced Thursday.

Patchcoski was recognized for his work in garnering $10 million in funding for renovations of community-based space. He also created a system supporting equity-based student success at Penn State. Patchoski was a supporter of the revision to a “chosen identity” process for students, faculty, and staff at Penn State which allowed for the selection of a “preferred name.”

Patchcoski entered his current role with Student Affairs in January 2021. He previously served as the director of the Center for Sexual and Gender Diversity since 2017. He also served as the honorary grand marshall for Penn State Homecoming 2021.
