Three-Star Defensive Lineman De’Andre Cook Commits To Penn State Football

Penn State is making defensive line upgrades.

Three-star defensive lineman De’Andre Cook committed to Penn State football, he announced via Instagram livestream Friday. Cook, who selected the Nittany Lions over Rutgers, North Carolina, and others, becomes the 21st player to commit to the program’s recruiting Class of 2024.

A native of Washington, D.C., Cook stands as the 107th-best defensive lineman in the country and the No. 5-ranked player from the district, according to the 247Sports’ Composite rankings.

Standing at 6’4″ and 260 pounds, Cook joins a notable Penn State recruiting group, which was ranked No. 6 in the country by 247Sports prior to his arrival. He is the second defensive lineman to commit to the group after edge rusher Xavier Gilliam committed in early June.

Across seven games for Friendship Collegiate Academy in 2022, Cook registered seven total tackles, including six for a loss, according to MaxPreps.

With one year left of high school football, check out Cook’s Hudl highlights.
