Penn State Women’s Soccer Announces 2023 Schedule
Penn State sports are that much closer.
Penn State women’s soccer announced its schedule for the 2023 season Thursday. The Nittany Lions will face 17 opponents, including 10 at Jeffery Field.
Penn State will kick off its season with a home opener against North Carolina on Thursday, August 17. The Tarheels notably reached the NCAA Championship last year before falling to UCLA on a double-overtime stunner.
The Nittany Lions will then face West Chester on Sunday, August 20, before taking on its first road game against West Virginia on Thursday, August 24.
Five home matches follow as Penn State takes on TCU, UCF, Monmouth, and Princeton before opening Big Ten play against Maryland on September 15.
The Nittany Lions follow with road matches against Rutgers, Nebraska, Michigan, and Michigan State between September 21 and October 1.
Penn State splits its time at home and on the road for its final five matches of the season, facing Ohio State and Indiana at home while taking on Purdue and Northwestern on the road. The group will close the season at home against Wisconsin on October 22.
The Big Ten Tournament quickly follows the end of the regular season, with the competition starting on October 26 and concluding on November 5. Should the Nittany Lions advance past their conference opponents, they will continue to the NCAA Tournament, which runs from November 10 to 25.

Penn State is coming off an impressive 2022 season that saw them win the Big Ten Tournament as well as two NCAA Tournament games before falling to Virginia in the third round of the tournament.
