Penn State Baseball Adds Three Members To Coaching Staff
Mike Gambino is filling out his coaching staff.
Penn State baseball hired Scott Loiseau, Will Jauss, and Nick Puccio to its coaching staff, it announced Friday. Loiseau will serve as associate head coach, while Jauss and Puccio will take on assistant coaching roles.

Loiseau comes to Penn State from a head coaching role at Southern New Hampshire University, where he has led the Penmen since 2016. He also led Southern New Hampshire from 2008 to 2014, with a year difference as he served as a recruiting coordinator at Oklahoma.
Loiseau has been named Northeast-10 Coach of the Year six times and holds a career coaching record of 480-209-2. He has also led the Penmen to five Division II College World Series appearances, as well as 11-straight NCAA Tournaments.
Jauss follows new Penn State baseball coach Gambino from Boston College, where he served as the team’s pitching coach for the past two seasons. Prior to his time with Boston College, he also served as the pitching coach at Limestone University.
Jauss helped three Eagle pitchers hear their names called in the 2022 MLB Draft and led the team to a 2.54 strikeout-to-walk ratio in 2023, which was ranked No. 26 in the country.
Puccio has Big Ten baseball experience and comes to Penn State from Northwestern, where he was the hitting coach and recruiting coordinator for the Wildcats. He served as the head coach at Nichols University before his tenure at Northwestern.
During the 2023 season, Puccio helped lead the Wildcats led the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) in hits (614), home runs (106), home runs per game (1.77), on-base percentage (.395), runs (459), and slugging percentage (.510).
Jake Stone has also been retained on Gambino’s staff after spending the past four seasons as Penn State’s director of operations and player development.
