Penn State Football’s Dante Cephas Named To Biletnikoff Award Watch List

Penn State football redshirt senior Dante Cephas was named to the Biletnikoff Award watch list Monday, which honors college football’s best receiver, despite the position.

Cephas, a wide receiver, will begin his fifth year of college football at Penn State, following a four-year career at Kent State. The Pittsburgh native arrived in Happy Valley with two years of eligibility remaining after announcing his intent to transfer to the program in January.

Most recently at Kent State, Cephas made eight starts through nine appearances and registered 48 catches for 744 yards. The receiver tallied three touchdowns in his senior campaign, too.

Cephas ranks ninth in career receiving yards among active college football receivers and led the MAC with 82.7 yards per game.

The winner of the Biletnikoff Award will be announced on Thursday, December 7, at the Home Depot College Football Awards. Cephas joins seven other Nittany Lions named to 12 preseason watch lists ahead of the group’s 2023 season.
