Penn State women’s soccer forward Kaitlyn MacBean was named to TopDrawerSoccer’s Team of the Week Tuesday, the organization announced Tuesday. The redshirt junior scored game-winners in both of the Nittany Lions’ last matches against West Virginia and TCU.

MacBean’s goal against West Virginia came in the 85th minute after the Mountaineers had tied the game at a goal apiece in the 53rd minute. The goal was MacBean’s fourth of her collegiate career.

Against then-No. 16 TCU, MacBean scored the match’s only goal in the 77th minute. With that goal, she became one of two Big Ten players to score game-winners in that week and the only Big Ten player to do so against an opponent ranked in the United Soccer Coaches poll.

MacBean has played in all four of the Nittany Lions’ games in the 2023 season and taken six shots, all of which have registered as shots on goal. While she’s struggled with injuries throughout her collegiate career, MacBean has notched five goals and an assist in just 805 career minutes.
