Fraser Street Commons Provides Students With Free Study Spot

A downtown study spot expanded its hours just in time for the fall semester to pick up.

Fraser Street Commons, located at 115 S. Fraser St., opens its doors to the State College community, and the space is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays.

All members of the community, students and non-students alike, are invited to hold meetings, meet with friends or colleagues, or just relax in a calm spot downtown.

The space is owned by Calvary Church, which has five locations across Centre County. Kendra Getting, the church’s outreach director, expressed her excitement and passion for the next generation. She hopes Fraser Street Commons will provide refuge for students in the midst of their busy schedules.

“We desire for this space to be a blessing to students! A place to study, enjoy coffee, meet up with friends, feel safe, and more,” Getting said.

Fraser Street Commons offers free coffee, WiFi, and the freedom to utilize every inch of the space to anyone who pays it a visit. Those looking to host events downtown on evenings and weekends can also rent out the space by emailing curator@fraserstreetcommons.com

“We’d love for students and other community members to check out the space,” Getting said. “Meet a friend, study for a test, enjoy coffee from a local roaster, or just relax. This space is designed for students and we’d love for you to join us there!”
