Penn State Football Opens As 14.5-Point Favorite Against Illinois

For the first time this season, Penn State football will take to the road.

After emphatically dismantling the Blue Hens in its last outing, Penn State will continue its hot start against the first conference opponent of the year. The last time the Nittany Lions took on Illinois, similarly ranked No. 7 at the time, fell in a record-breaking nine-overtime battle. However, the books predict the outcome to be slightly different this time around.

FanDuel currently has posted a line sitting at just over two touchdowns, or +14.5 points, in favor of Penn State. The Big Ten matchup also set the over/under at 48.5 points.

So far this season, Penn State is 2-0 against the spread and has hit the over both times in its two previous games. Illinois, however, is 0-2 against the spread and has gone 1-1 on the over/under.

Penn State is 8-0-1 against the spread in its last nine contests and hit the over in six straight games on the road.

The game will kick off at noon in Champaign, Illinois, and will be broadcast on FOX.
