Penn State Men’s Soccer Ranked No. 25 In United Soccer Coaches Weekly Poll

Penn State men’s soccer is back in the national rankings this week as it jumped to the No. 25 position in the United Soccer Coaches weekly poll Tuesday.

Penn State is now 5-1-2 in overall play and 2-0 in conference matches. It faced conference opponent Maryland on Tuesday, which resulted in a big 1-0 victory. The Nittany Lions finished out the week by blanking UNC Greensboro 2-0 on the road.

Peter Mangione, the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week, found the back of the net for the lone goal in the Maryland contest and recorded an assist against UNC Greensboro. Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week Kris Shakes also had a great week, recording clean sheets in both matches.

The Nittany Lions will return to Happy Valley and to Howard at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, September 27, at Jeffrey Field.
