Penn State football fell one spot to No. 7 in the latest AP Poll, the Associated Press announced Sunday. The Nittany Lions moved to No. 7 after a No. 6 ranking in week six.

Penn State’s ranking comes after a 63-0 blowout over UMass, improving the team to 6-0. Washington jumped two spots to No. 5 from No. 7 after a 36-33 victory over Oregon Saturday. The Huskies jumped the Nittany Lions and Oklahoma to reach the top five.

Georgia, Michigan, Ohio State, Florida State, and Washington round out the top five of the poll. Oklahoma, Penn State, Texas, Oregon, and North Carolina round out the remainder of the top 10.

Meanwhile, Penn State dropped to No. 6 in the USA Today Coaches Poll after previously being No. 5 last week. The Nittany Lions were leapfrogged by Washington.

Penn State’s next matchup is a showdown against Ohio State on the road at noon on Saturday, October 21. The game will be televised on FOX, and ESPN’s College GameDay will also be in Columbus.
