Ohio State handed Penn State football its first loss of the year this weekend in brutal fashion. The Nittany Lions struggled on offense and failed to score a touchdown until the final few minutes of play.

Our photographers were on the field in Columbus to capture the ups and downs of Penn State’s loss. Let’s take a look back at some of the pictures.

The stage was set: Ohio Stadium.

Though more commonly referred to as “The Horseshoe” or “Shoe,” Buckeyes and Penn Staters alike piled into the stadium for its “Scarlet the Shoe” game, though Nittany Lion fans sported their road whites.

Many of the Nittany Lion faithful made their way to Columbus to watch the top-10 matchup.

Penn State arrived by bus, took in the stadium, and prepared for warmups.

With Big Noon Kickoff and College Gameday in attendance, the sidelines felt like a who’s-who of college football media personalities.

Penn State took to their field for warmups, getting ready for its toughest battle yet.

Before we knew it, it was game time.

Penn State’s defense was the star of the first half, containing a star-studded Ohio State offense to only 10 points.

The Nittany Lions struggled on offense and only scored six points in the first half.

The crowd in Ohio Stadium was loud and proved to be a difference-maker in the momentum.

Penn State’s defense did what it could to keep the Nittany Lions in the game and came up with some key stops in the second half.

Despite their best efforts, the Nittany Lions couldn’t contain Ohio State wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr., who scored a fourth-quarter touchdown that proved fatal for Penn State.

Despite a last-minute touchdown, the Nittany Lions couldn’t complete the comeback. Penn State fell to 6-1 following its first loss of the season.

The Nittany Lions will return to action on home turf against Indiana at noon on Saturday, October 28, at Beaver Stadium.
