Penn State Wrestling’s Aaron Brooks Wins U23 World Championship
The excellence of Penn State wrestling continues on the world stage.
Over the previous two days, the 2023 U23 World Championships were held in Tirana, Albania, where Aaron Brooks, a three-time NCAA National Champion and senior Nittany Lion wrestler competed at 86 kilograms.
Brooks completed a perfect 5-0 performance in the competition, finishing strong with a 10-0 technical fall over Tatsuya Shirai in the final to secure a U23 2023 World Championship.

Brooks is one of eight returning Nittany Lion wrestlers for the upcoming season, as well as one of two returning national champions. This season, Brooks will aim to secure his fourth national championship title, a feat only five wrestlers have done in the past. One is head coach Cael Sanderson.
Penn State will begins its upcoming season at the Journeymen Collegiate Classic on Sunday, November 12, in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.
