Penn State Men’s Hockey Falls Two Spots To No. 17 In USCHO Poll

Penn State men’s hockey fell to No. 17 in the latest USCHO poll, which was released Monday.

The two-spot drop follows the Nittany Lions’ series split against Alaska Anchorage over the weekend.

Guy Gadowsky’s group rolled to a 2-1 victory over the Seawolves with the help of conversions by Christian Sarlo and Danny Dzhaniyev and 25 saves by goaltender Noah Grannan on Thursday at Pegula Ice Arena.

The following day, the Nittany Lions fell 6-5 to Alaska Anchorage. Despite goals from Jacques Bouquot, Dzhaniyev, Christian Berger, Reese Laubach, and Dylan Lugris, the group was outscored in the second period and never recovered.

With its No. 17 ranking, Penn State will skate into conference play against Notre Dame at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 4, at Pegula Ice Arena. The second game of the series is set for 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, November 5.
