Penn State Women’s Soccer Rises One Spot To No. 5 In United Soccer Coaches Poll

Penn State women’s soccer moved up one spot to No. 5 in the United Soccer Coaches Poll in the latest rankings, the organization announced Wednesday.

The move comes after the Nittany Lions won 3-0 against Indiana in the Big Ten Tournament quarterfinals at Jeffrey Field on Sunday. The team, which saw its highest ranking come at No. 4 toward the end of the season, fell two spots to No. 6 after it suffered a 1-0 loss to Wisconsin in the final game of the regular season, its first defeat of the season.

Florida State, UCLA, Stanford, and Texas Tech round up the top four. Also ranked in the Big Ten are No. 12 Wisconsin, No. 15 Nebraska, and No. 20 Michigan State.

Penn State’s next matchup is against Iowa in the Big Ten Tournament semifinals at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 2, in Columbus, Ohio. The game will be televised on the Big Ten Network.
