Penn State football faltered in the spotlight and had its College Football Playoff hopes all but ended by the Michigan Wolverines on Saturday. The Nittany Lions will attempt to rebound in a showdown with Rutgers at noon on Saturday, November 18.

Christian Veilleux, Pittsburgh

It appeared Pitt quarterback Christian Veilleux has a strong hold on the starting job for the Panthers after taking the reigns and upsetting a ranked Louisville in his first career start. After a lackluster string of performances, head coach Pat Narduzzi benched Veilleux in the fourth quarter of the Panthers’ game against Syracuse.

Veilleux was pulled after committing his third turnover of the second half en route to a fourth consecutive loss for the Panthers. He finished the game 13-22 with 161 passing yards, one touchdown, and three turnovers.

Ta’Quan Roberson, UConn

Ta’Quan Roberson and the UConn Huskies faced a tough matchup this week as they traveled to Virginia to face off against an undefeated James Madison. In the 44-6 loss, Roberson completed 20 of his 36 passes for 207 yards and one interception.

Noah Cain, LSU

Former freshman Nittany Lion standout Noah Cain continued to see limited action with his new team. Cain found the end zone on one of his six touches against Florida, in which he totaled 31 yards on five rushing attempts and one reception.

Storm Duck, Louisville

Storm Duck saw his first game action in nearly a month on Thursday, when the Cardinal squared off against the Virginia Cavaliers. In the Cardinals’ 31-24 win, Duck totaled two solo tackles and one pass defended.

Daniel George, Akron

Akron suffered yet another loss on Wednesday in what has been a nightmare season for the Zips. In their 19-0 loss to Miami (OH), Daniel George totaled 23 yards on three receptions.
