Class Of 2025 Three-Star Quarterback Bekkem Kritza Commits To Penn State Football

Penn State football’s Class of 2025 has its quarterback.

Three-star quarterback Bekkem Kritza committed to the Nittany Lions, he announced Tuesday. With his commitment, Kritza became the sixth player to commit to the program’s Class of 2025.

Hailing from Boulder, Colorado, Kritza is ranked as the No. 30 quarterback in the country and the best player in his home state, per the 247Sports Composite rankings. Kritza stands at 6’5″, 182 pounds.

Kritza, who the 247Sports Composite ranked as the No. 405 player in the nation, is the lowest-ranked player in the country. He joined a class ranked as the seventh-best recruiting class in the country before his commitment. Penn State’s group includes the likes of DJ McClary, the 11th-highest-ranked linebacker in the country, two four-star running backs in Kiandrea Barker and Tiqwai Hayes, four-star tight end Brady O’Hara from Pittsburgh, and three-star cornerback Omari Gaines.

Perhaps the most interesting factor in Kritza’s recruitment was that he attended Penn State’s most recent game against Michigan, in which the Nittany Lions lost in brutal fashion to the Wolverines as Penn State’s offense scored just 15 points. One day later, offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Mike Yurcich, who had reportedly recruited Kritza, was fired.

Penn State’s newest commit selected the Nittany Lions over the likes of in-state Colorado and Colorado State, as well as Pitt, Texas A&M, and others.
