Dropkick Murphys To Perform At Bryce Jordan Center March 8

American Celtic punk band Dropkick Murphys will perform at 7 p.m. on Friday, March 8, at the Bryce Jordan Center as part of its St. Patrick’s Day Tour.

Tickets for the general public will go on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday, November 17, though a presale begins on Wednesday, November 15.

Pennywise and The Scratch will also accompany the Dropkick Murphys at the Bryce Jordan Center.

Dropkick Murphys were made famous by their anthem “I’m Shipping Up To Boston” which was released in 2005. It gained further notoriety when the song was used in the 2006 film “The Departed.” Boston sports teams frequently use the song as part of their identity.

The band has released 12 albums over the course of 25 years, beginning with its debut album “Do or Die” in 1998. Dropkick Murphys has released three albums in the past three years: “Turn Up That Dial,” “This Machine Kills Fascists,” and “Okemah Rising.”

The band’s arrival likely won’t be greeted by many students, as the concert will take place on the Friday of Penn State’s spring break.

Dropkick Murphys is the third act that the Bryce Jordan Center has announced in the past week after it announced Travis Scott and Drake would both perform during Penn State’s spring semester. Other upcoming performances at the Bryce Jordan Center include Old DominionJohn MulaneyZach Bryan, and more.
