Nittany Lions In The NFL: Week 14 Roundup

Now comes the final stretch.

Penn State football might be off, but former Penn Staters in the NFL are still putting on a show. As the Nittany Lions eye up their postseason battle with Ole Miss, so are Penn Staters in the league as the final weeks of the season approach. With multiple touchdowns and a few interceptions to boot, the Nittany Lions showed out in the pros this week.

Saquon Barkley, New York Giants

Saquon Barkley single-handedly tried to save everyone’s fantasy teams Monday night as he helped push the Giants to an upset victory over the Packers. Barkley put up 86 yards on 20 rushing attempts, but his 12 points scored on two touchdowns were good for half of New York’s points en route to a 24-22 win.

Jaquan Brisker, Chicago Bears

Jaquan Brisker put on a clinic for the Bears on Sunday, making a game-high 17 tackles. In addition to a forced fumble for Chicago, Brisker led the Bears’ defense as they allowed just 28 points in the team’s fifth win of the season. Oh, and did we mention he’s a safety?

Ji’Ayir Brown, San Francisco 49ers

Ji’Ayir Brown has put together a strong rookie season in the NFL, as he nabbed an interception in the 49ers 28-16 win over the Seahawks. That pick was Brown’s second of the season as San Francisco begins the hunt for the top of the NFC.

Chris Godwin, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Chris Godwin held it down for Tampa Bay on Sunday, as he recorded 53 receiving yards from five catches. With the Buccaneers’ 29-25 win over the Atlanta Falcons, they hold a three-way tie for the top of the NFC South, with Tampa Bay, Atlanta, and New Orleans all standing at 6-7.

Micah Parsons, Dallas Cowboys

Micah Parsons continued his hot streak Sunday night, with the Cowboys’ 33-13 win over the Eagles in Arlington. Parsons’ numbers didn’t jump off the page, but his two tackles and one sack helped Dallas tie the Eagles record for the top of the NFC East.

Parker Washington, Jacksonville Jaguars

After reeling in his first touchdown catch last week, Parker Washington was the hot hand again for Jacksonville on Sunday. Washington nabbed just two catches for 27 yards, but his touchdown grab kept the game tight for the Jaguars, who ultimately lost 31-27 to the Browns.
