Olu Fashanu & Kalen King Out For Peach Bowl Matchup Against Ole Miss

Penn State football will be without offensive lineman Olu Fashanu and cornerback Kalen King for the Peach Bowl, according to the team’s availability report.

Fashanu declared for the draft prior to the Peach Bowl but didn’t say whether or not he’d be playing in the game. Fashanu is heavily expected to be a top-five pick in this year’s NFL Draft.

King has yet to declare for the NFL Draft. This season, King recorded 20 solo tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, and two passes defended.

Wide receiver Trey Wallace is not listed on the availability report. After returning from injury earlier in the season, Wallace was sidelined again during the Nittany Lions’ matchup against Indiana and hasn’t seen the field since.

Wallace was expected to be a presence in the passing game this season but after missing a large portion of the season only recorded 15 receptions for 161 yards.

Cornerback Johnny Dixon is listed as out on the availability report. Franklin revealed on Friday that Dixon was not with the team in Atlanta and said he didn’t expect the cornerback to play in the bowl game ahead of a potential declaration for the NFL Draft.

In addition to Dixon, defensive end Chop Robinson declared for the Draft and opted out of the Peach Bowl in early December.
