Penn State Football Defensive End Jake Wilson Enters Transfer Portal

Penn State football defensive end Jake Wilson has entered the transfer portal, per Rivals. Wilson’s departure comes at the end of his fourth year in Happy Valley.

Wilson never saw much action for the Nittany Lions, appearing mostly on special teams. He appeared in 27 games during his career, 26 of which came during the last two seasons. While most of Wilson’s appearances came with special teams units, he also worked as a defensive end on the developmental squad.

Wilson committed to Penn State in 2020 as a preferred walk-on, though he never earned a scholarship from the program. He played his high school ball in Nazareth, Pennsylvania, where he accounted for 18 sacks and 39 tackles for loss in his senior season.

Wilson is just the fourth reported transfer away from the program after the Nittany Lions lost just Cristian Driver, Alex Bacchetta, and Jace Tutty on the opening day of the transfer portal. Penn State’s only commit from the portal has been kicker Chase Meyer from Tulsa.
