Penn State Women’s Volleyball Setter Mac Podraza Signed By Grand Rapids Rise

Penn State women’s volleyball setter Mac Podraza has been signed to a professional contract by the Grand Rapids Rise, the Rise announced Friday. Podraza spent one year at Penn State after playing the previous four years at Ohio State.

“Mac has been one of the top setters in the Big Ten and nationally,” Rise head coach Cathy George said in a press release. “She plays with a competitive fire and has a strong volleyball aptitude.”

During her collegiate career, Podraza was named an All-American three times, though she missed on the honor during her season at Penn State. After her time with the Nittany Lions, Podraza was named first-team All-Big Ten. She was part of the Penn State team that reached the regional semifinal of the NCAA Tournament before falling to No. 3 Wisconsin.

Podraza finished college with 5,115 assists, 998 digs, 325 kills, 283 blocks, and 56 aces. At Penn State, she recorded 1,236 assists, 256 digs, 58 kills, 73 blocks, and 14 aces.
