Penn State Women’s Hockey Ranked No. 15 In USCHO Poll

Penn State women’s hockey was ranked No. 15 by the USCHO, the outlet announced Monday. The Nittany Lions were tied with Boston College and were the only ranked CHA team, though Mercyhurst received one point.

Last appearing in the rankings on December 11 at No. 15, the Nittany Lions had received votes in each of the polls conducted after December 11 but hadn’t been ranked.

The Nittany Lions’ return to the poll came after the team trounced Lindenwood over the weekend. Behind impromptu goaltending from Katie DeSa and strong offense by Tessa Janecke, the Nittany Lions have won five of their last seven games, including the last three. At present, Penn State is 16-11-1 on the season and is the top-ranked team in CHA with 22 points and an 11-3-0 record in conference play.

Penn State will return to Pegula Ice Arena for a series with Mercyhurst. The games will take place at 6 p.m. on Friday, February 2, and at 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 3, and can be streamed on BTN+.
