WALK THE MOON Taking Stage At THON 2024
American pop rock band WALK THE MOON is taking the stage at THON 2024.
The band was started in 2006 by lead singer Nicholas Petricca, who was a student at Kenyon College at the time.
WALK THE MOON is best known for its song “Shut Up and Dance,” which reached No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2014 and has been certified Platinum a whopping five times by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). The album it was on, “Talking Is Hard,” peaked at No. 14 on the Billboard charts in the United States and was certified Platinum by the RIAA.
The group has opened for Panic! At the Disco, performed with Taylor Swift on her 1989 World Tour, and taken the stage of Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve.
Most recently, the band released an album in 2021 titled “Heights.” In mid-2023, Petricca announced that the group would be going on a temporary hiatus.
