[Photo Story] Penn State Supports LGBTQ+ Community With Pride March

To kick off Penn State Pride Month, the Center for Sexual and Gender Diversity held a march and rally for students and community members Tuesday afternoon.

Those involved congregated outside of the HUB to begin the march. During the march, participants carried signs and flags in support of the LGBTQ+ community.

As everyone made their way to Old Main, the group showed off its Penn State pride with multiple “We Are!” chants for everyone on campus to hear.

When the group arrived at the steps of Old Main, the flag was put on display as marchers gathered to take a group photo.

While making its way back from Old Main, the group shouted more “We Are!” chants heard around campus, which was echoed in support from fellow students.

Once everyone was back at the HUB, students and staff took the time to share a few words about their experiences.

To close off the march, the group enjoyed a lunch together while talking about the day’s events.

There are many more opportunities to get involved this month, and the pride march was just the first of many events during Campus Pride Month.
