Former Penn State women’s soccer star Ali Krieger will deliver the commencement address for the Donald P. Bellisario College of Communications Class of 2024 graduation at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 4, the school announced Tuesday.

Krieger, an active member of Penn State’s Board of Trustees, played for the Nittany Lions from 2003-06. At Penn State, Krieger earned several awards, including Big Ten Freshman of the Year, All-American honors in 2005 and 2006, and Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year as a senior.

After her graduation, Krieger spent 16 years playing professional soccer. She played in, and won, the 2015 and 2019 Women’s World Cups. After her election to the board and a knee injury, Krieger retired in 2023. Presently, Krieger is working for ESPN as a studio analyst.
