Movin’ On Names Bridie Lawall 2025 Executive Director

Penn State junior Bridie Lawall has been named the 2025 executive director of Movin’ On, the organization announced Tuesday. Lawall will succeed Sofia Moussan, who served at the helm of Movin’ On for two years.

Lawall is a geography major and recreation parks and tourism management minor from Bucks County, Pennsylvania. For the 2023 and 2024 editions of Movin’ On, Lawall served as director of operations and was the local sponsorship coordinator for her first Movin’ On in 2022.

As the director of operations, Lawall created a sustainability team that advocated for environmentally friendly efforts with the event. She also created hand-printed lineup tote bags for Movin’ On 2023.

“Last year, I made an effort to ensure responsible waste management during our festival. I spent the year working with our Sustainability Coordinator and Doug Goodstein from the Penn State Sustainability Institute, to create a plan in which we would go through every piece of trash left on the field after the festival, to make sure we could properly recycle all of the waste left behind,” Lawall said in a statement.

“Our team of about 10 students hand-picked through about 300 pounds of trash in 45 minutes and saved 101.24 pounds of missorted waste which would have ended up making our bags unrecyclable,” she continued.

As executive director, Lawall wants to better promote Penn State’s students during the school year.

“At its root, Movin’ On is a celebration for its student body by its student body,” Lawall said.

Movin’ On 2024 is set to take place on Friday, April 26, at the IM Fields. It will feature performances from Dayglow, Sexyy Red, and Freddie Gibbs, alongside the Student Programming Association’s sponsored act The 502s.
