Former Lady Lion Guard Shay Ciezki Transfers To Indiana

Former Penn State women’s basketball guard Shay Ciezki committed to transfer to Indiana, she announced on Instagram Thursday. Ciezki was the second former Lady Lion to find a new home this offseason after Ali Brigham committed to Bryant.

Ciezki was Penn State’s top option at guard for the last two seasons. As a freshman, she started 29 times and was one of the top three-point shooters in the Big Ten, finishing second in three-point percentage.

Ciezki started her sophomore season well but wasn’t consistent through the end of the season. She didn’t start in Penn State’s final two games after being benched in the WBIT. She finished the 2023-24 season with 404 points, 83 assists, and 35 steals across 35 appearances.

Ciezki was one of three Lady Lions to hit the portal this offseason, following Brigham and Leilani Kapinus. Since their departure, Penn State has brought in Gracie Merkle from Bellarmine.
