Former Penn State Football Quarterback Christian Veilleux Transfers To Georgia State

Former Penn State football quarterback Christian Veilleux has committed to transfer to Georgia State, he announced Wednesday. Veilleux’s commitment means he will play for his third program in his college career, after Penn State and Pitt.

“The next opportunity is the best opportunity! Let’s go to work!” Veilleux wrote on social media.

The redshirt junior spent the first two seasons of his career at Penn State before transferring to Pitt last season. However, he consistently lost battles for the starting quarterback jobs at each school.

The Ottawa, Canada, native made his Penn State debut when he took over for Sean Clifford against Rutgers in 2021. He tossed for 235 yards and three touchdowns while maintaining a 62.5% completion rate. He only appeared in four more games as a Nittany Lion.

Veilleux transferred to Pitt and appeared in seven games last season. He threw for 1,461 yards, 10 touchdowns, and eight interceptions while maintaining a 53.4% completion rate. His best performance of the campaign was at Wake Forest when he threw a season-high 302 yards and two touchdowns while completing 62.2% of his passes.

Now, the 6’4″, 220-pound Veilleux is off to a Georgia State program that went 7-6 last season. The Panthers now have five quarterbacks in the room, including redshirt senior Zach Gibson, who transferred from Georgia Tech in January.
