Penn State-Illinois Set For Afternoon Or Evening Kickoff

Penn State football’s Saturday, September 28, matchup with Illinois has been set for a 3:30 p.m., 4 p.m., or a 7:30 p.m. kick, the Big Ten announced Thursday. A broadcaster has not yet been chosen.

The Nittany Lions’ game against the Fighting Illini will be their fourth of the season and their first of the Big Ten slate.

Penn State has played Illinois 27 times, winning 21 of those games. Most recently, the Nittany Lions defeated the Illini on the road in last season’s 30-13 win. The Illini beat Penn State in Beaver Stadium in 2021, taking a historic, nine-overtime game 20-18.
