Penn State Men’s Volleyball Hires Ryan Perrotte As Assistant Coach
Penn State men’s volleyball has hired Ryan “Rock” Perrotte as an assistant coach, the team announced Thursday. Perrotte previously coached at Purdue Fort Wayne for 22 seasons, including the last nine as the team’s head coach.
Perrotte spent most of his volleyball career with Purdue Fort Wayne. He played for the team from 1996-99, coached as an assistant from 2002-15, and was head coach from 2016-24. The Mastodons made two NCAA Tournament appearances during his tenure as an assistant coach, and Perrotte won 113 matches during his time as a head coach.
“I would like to thank Coach Pavlik, Coach (Colin) McMillan, and Coach (Pat) Shawaryn for this opportunity to join them and contribute to the amazing program and history of Penn State men’s volleyball. I immensely look forward to this new chapter in my coaching career,” Perrotte said in a release.
Internationally, Perrotte was the head coach of Team USA in the 2019 World University Games in Napoli, Italy. He has also been the coach of USA Volleyball High Performance A3, A2, and A1 summer camps since 2012.
