Buffalo Wild Wings Seeking Downtown State College Opening

Buffalo Wild Wings may be coming to State College, according to the borough’s council work session agenda.

According to the agenda, State College Wing Company, doing business as Buffalo Wild Wings, has requested a liquor license transfer from Don Patron Mexican Grill. The Buffalo Wild Wings would use its license at 131 Heister St., which is home to the Maxxen, in State College.

The Buffalo Wild Wings would join El Jefe’s Taqueria, Mezeh Mediterranean Grill, and Tropical Smoothie Cafe, which is expected to open in the fall.

This isn’t the first time Buffalo Wild Wings has tried to open in State College. The restaurant attempted to open on North Atherton Street in 2016, but those plans fell through by September 2017.

A public hearing on the liquor license is scheduled for August 5, and approval is scheduled for August 19. The council will meet on Monday, July 8.
