When words fail to fully encapsulate how you’re feeling, that’s when emojis come into play.

Whether its through text, social media posts, or in a random GroupMe, there are thousands of emojis ready to be used at any given moment. Once you click on the emoticon button in your messages to select an emoji to use, a list of your “frequently used” emojis can be found.

With this, some of our writers thought it would be fun to take a crack at guessing which emojis fellow Penn Staters use most.

Willard Preacher:

The notorious Gary Cattel takes a cheery approach to preaching the teachings of the Bible. Standing tall in front of the Willard Building every Monday through Friday, Gary is known for his constant banter about how sex is bad and God is good.

Although he spends almost every day dedicating his life to his church, at night he enjoys slow-dancing with his wife, hence the dancing emoji. His use of the hourglass emoji represents your time to escape your sins.

Neeli Bendapudi:

We know our beloved president promotes academic excellence and that Penn State pride, so it’s only appropriate her emojis are consistent. Once the weekend hits, Bendapudi will be bendin’ that booty.

James Franklin:

Naturally, football head coach James Frankin’s potential emojis display almost every emotion the average Penn State football fan feels during almost every game.

Being known as pretty active on social media, some of these emojis can even be found on his tweets from time to time- depending on if he’s feeling silly goofy or not.

Average Frat Guy:

No comment.

Drew Allar:

Oh, Drew. The pride and joy of Penn State football.

At the forefront of the football team, leading as QB1, Allar reflects just that with the goat and trophy emojis most likely in his frequently used. Real Allar fans, who read his children’s book, know that he enjoys lifting and playing video games in his free time.

Katie Feeney:

Penn State’s very own social media influencer is known for her bubbly personality and her content showing the behind-the-scenes of her many opportunities since her fame and life on campus.

If we had to take a guess at which emojis she used the most, we have a feeling her frequently used section looks very pink and positive.

Nittany Lion:

Every Penn Stater knows and loves this furry fella. Always bringing the energy to Beaver Stadium and Bryce Jordan Center with costumes, skits, and props, the Nittany Lion definitely has some niche emojis in his collection.

Mike Rhoades:

Penn State head men’s basketball coach Mike Rhoades took a road trip from VCU to join the Nittany Lions last year. He and his team will (hopefully) be making buckets this season with key player Ace Baldwin Jr., his own ace of spades.

Carter Starocci:

“Natty Daddy” doesn’t need much of an explanation. We know what he likes: wrestling, winning, and himself.
