Penn State Field Hockey Ranked No. 19 In Latest NFHCA Poll

Penn State field hockey has jumped into the NFHCA poll at No. 19, the NFHCA announced on Tuesday.

The Nittany Lions are 10-4 and 4-1 in Big Ten play this season. They are currently on a seven-win streak.

In the month of October, the Nittany Lions have recorded two upsets of top-25 teams, beating No. 19 Lafayette 3-2 in overtime and beating No. 18 Michigan 2-1 on Sunday.

Penn State is fueled by Ella Gaitan, who was named Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week, who scored a shootout goal to defeat Ohio State 4-3 to clinch a postseason berth for Penn State. She also scored both goals in the upset of No. 18 Michigan.

The Nittany Lions are back in action at 3 p.m. on Friday, October 23, when they take on No. 13 Indiana. The match will be streamed on Big Ten Plus.
