[Photo Story] Penn State Hockey’s Eventful Weekend At Pegula Ice Arena

Fans headed to Pegula Ice Arena Friday and Saturday to watch Penn State men’s and women’s hockey take on Quinnipiac and Lindenwood in a weekend full of hockey.

The men’s team fell to the No. 8 Bobcats in its home opener, while No. 6 Penn State women’s hockey shut out Lindenwood to secure its third straight win.

Our photographers captured all the action. Let’s take a look at how the weekend went for the Nittany Lions.

Friday, October 16

The Nittany Lions returned to Pegula Ice Arena for their home opener against Quinnipiac.

Quinnipiac quickly turned things around, scoring three goals before the first period ended to take a 3-2 lead. The Bobcats carried the momentum into the second period, scoring twice more to put Penn State down by three.

Quinnipiac added another goal in the third period, extending its lead to 6-2. Luke Misa scored on the power play shortly afterward, but Penn State couldn’t close the gap.

Tensions picked up in the final minutes as a scrum broke out on the ice, leading to player ejections. The game ended in a 6-3 loss for the Nittany Lions.
