
Penn State women's volleyball assistant coach Steve Aird has officially been named the head coach of the Maryland Terrapins program on Wednesday, according to the athletics website. Aird has been as assistant with the Nittany Lions national championship-winning program for the past two seasons, previously serving as Penn State's Director of Operations during the 2007 season.

Glen may have been exhausted, but he hadn't played a single minute that night. Even so, he still had dished out the most important assist of the week. Only 24-hours earlier, Glen had begun the first of four injections as part of a bone marrow donation procedure. A member of Be The Match, Penn State's assistant captain received word earlier in the month that he was a match for a patient in need.

It was a slow weekend for Penn State sports as only five matches took place between basketball, hockey, and wrestling combined. The Nittany Lions went 2-3 over the weekend, as women's basketball and wrestling maintained their winning ways, while both hockey team's continued to struggle.

The Lady Lions continued to dominate in an impressive 83-53 win over Minnesota last night at the Jordan Center. Maggie Lucas lead the Lady Lions with 25 points followed by fellow guard Dara Taylor who had the best performance of her college career. Taylor notched a double-double with 15 points, 10 assists, and four steals.

Despite outplaying the number two team in the nation for the majority of the game, Penn State dropped its fifth straight game last night to Boston College 3-2. The Nittany Lions now move to 4-15-1 on the year, which probably makes them the best fifteen loss team in the country as Penn State is 3-7 in one goal games.

Penn State defeated Illinois wrestling 31-3 on Friday night in Rec Hall. Nico Megaludis defeated rival Jesse Delgado 5-4.
