That magical time is upon us again as two of the best days in the sports calendar are hours away from beginning. Hopefully you have your brackets filled out and are ready for the madness to get underway. Penn State hockey has announced that the groundbreaking ceremony for the Pegula Ice Arena, set to open in the fall of 2013, will be held on April 20th at the Penn State Field Hockey Complex.

Baseball Season Tickets On Sale This Week

If you long for the smell of the fresh cut grass and the sound of the crack (ping? for a metal bat) of the bat on the baseball diamond, then Penn State has a hell of a deal for students. Student season tickets for this year’s Penn State Nittany Lion baseball team are now on sale and can be purchased this week in the HUB (from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.) and are only $20 for all 22 home games.

Lady Lions a No. 4 Seed in NCAA Tournament

On Monday night, the Penn State women's basketball team learned its NCAA Tournament fate. The Lady Lions earned a No. 4 seed, and they will face 13th-seeded UTEP in Baton Rouge, La. The teams will square off on Sunday at 5:15 p.m. on ESPN2.

I Went To The Blue Sapphire Classic And All I Got Was This Post

If you're like me, you're also an alien to the sport of twirling. Yes, it's a sport, people. I saw it with my own two eyes yesterday at the Blue Sapphire Classic at Rec Hall.. After a few minutes wondering if I'd stumbled into an episode of Toddlers & Tiaras, what I found was a whole lot of talent, energy, and enthusiasm.

Penn State Falls to Indiana in Big Ten Tournament

For a half it looked promising. Penn State, despite rarely having a lead, went into halftime at Bankers Life Fieldhouse trailing only by six points, 38-32. Tim Frazier was on fire with nineteen points, and there was reason for optimism as both teams headed to halftime. The second half was a different story as Indiana (25-7) went on to defeat Penn State (12-20) by a score of 75-58.
