Women’s Soccer Takes On Brazil

psuwomenssoccerThe women’s soccer team, which won its 11th consecutive Big Ten title this year, traveled to Brazil last Monday to test its skills:

“We are coming off a very successful spring season and are hoping to continue that success on this trip,” said [Coach] Walsh. “One of the biggest benefits of playing in this part of the world will be gaining lessons on gamesmanship perspective. Brazilians have a different style of play when it comes to controlling the tempo, and we will see these tactics late in the game. They are masters at manipulating the outcome in different situations.”

Players Ali Schaefer, Danielle Toney, Emma Thomson, and Tara Davies have blogged about the trip so far:

…We entered the bus excited to play. With Gossip Girl Season 1 out of the picture we resorted to Tom Hanks movies with Korean subtitles (it was not quite the same, but we made due). Three very long hours later we approached the field.
