Rally in the Valley Kicks Off Tonight

The Blue & White Society’s annual Rally in the Valley will be held tonight in Rec Hall following the Penn State women’s volleyball game. Join the Lionettes, cheerleaders and the Blue Band for a night full of Penn State Football pride! Coach Paterno will also be there, joined by members of the football team, to give a motivational speech to those in attendance.

The Blue & White Society began planning for the event last semester with the selection of the two chairs, Chanel Figueroa and Tonia Damiano. The girls have since then formed a 60-person committee comprised of all Blue & White Society members to help promote and plan the event. Look for the committee members on the floor during the event throwing t-shirts to the crowd.

The rally is scheduled to start at 8 p.m., but the official start time will depend on the conclusion of the volleyball game. “Our advice to everyone who wants to come to Rally is to go to the volleyball game and stay after, because Rally will start within 15 minutes after the game is over,” says Figueroa. Get there early, because in the past they have had to turn people away!

“If you’ve ever seen the movie You’ve Got Mail, you’ll understand me when I say I have the “Kathleen Kelly Syndrome.” I often have trouble saying exactly what I mean. Instead, I find it easier to outsource by using quotes or songs to convey my message. That’s why you’ll find a few of my favorites scattered throughout this post: my senior column.”
