On December 1, Penn State students will attempt to break the Guinness World Record for most people finishing a crossword puzzle. The event is hosted by Atlas and will be held in Alumni Hall in the HUB on Wednesday. Doors will open at 12 p.m. but participants will only be allowed to do the crossword between 1 p.m. – 3 p.m.

A fee of $2 per person will be charged at the door, with all proceeds going towards THON 2011. Lioncash will also be accepted. Participants need to work on the crossword for a minimum of 10 minutes, and only need to get five answers correct for their puzzle to count. Event organizer Peter Farjo says, “It’s a short time to spare to really implement this year’s theme, ‘Together Without Limits’.”

The crossword puzzle should not be difficult to complete, as the theme is THON. Atlas is trying to break the previous record of 443 people with their goal being between 500-700 attendees.
