State Theatre to Show ‘Howl’
Who says good movies don’t get shown in State College? Later this week Howl is coming to the State Theatre.
Howl depicts the life and times of Beat Generation icon Allen Ginsberg (played by the versatile James Franco… have you seen 127 Hours yet?). The film pivots around the eponymous poem, and the obscenity trial in which it was nearly banned. Don Draper– I mean, Jon Hamm plays his attorney.
There will be 7:00 pm and 9:30 pm showings this Friday, and then again on Monday and Tuesday. Tickets are $6 for students and seniors and $8 for everyone else.

I’m probably the only person who has spent my entire college career almost evenly divided between working for The Daily Collegian and Onward State. I feel like this has given me a unique perspective on Penn State’s media scene. And I’ve learned a great deal from both media outlets.
