The Zombies Invade the State Theatre
The Zombies are coming to the State Theatre. No, not the shuffling living undead, with rotting flesh and a penchant for brains. This is the groovy, psychedelic English rock band of the ’60s.
The show is at 8 tonight and is sponsored in part by Roustabout!. Tickets cost $42 for orchestra seating, $36 for the balcony and $48 for Gold Circle.
While the Zombies may not have the same level of notoriety of the Beatles or the Stones, they’re still recognized as one of the greats in classic rock and one of the major players from the British Invasion. And their songs still permeate our popular culture — case in point, this Glee cover of “She’s Not There.” And who hasn’t listened to “Time of the Season” on a perfect spring day?
So if you’re in the mood for some smooth classic rock tunes, check out this stop on the Zombies’ 50th Anniversary tour tonight. It should be a good show, and a chance to see one of the more underappreciated bands out there.
