Free Saturday Morning Cartoons at the State Theatre!

Saturday morning can be rough for college students. You’re hungover, dehydrated, and trying to piece together what happened the night before. Luckily for you, you can go to the State Theatre and watch cartoons on a movie theater screen screen for free to make your hangover a little easier to deal with.

In honor of long-time State College mayor Bill Welch, the State Theatre is offering the Bill Welch Memorial Cartoon Series, an hour of free Saturday morning showings of definitive Warner Brother’s cartoons throughout the entire month of December. Classics like Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Porky Pig and more will all be on display on the State Theatre’s “31-foot big screen with state of the art projection and sound.”

Bill Welch was a 65-year native of State College and served as mayor for 14 years before passing away in September of 2009. He was a fan of the first Cartoon Series that was presented in December 2008, so the Theatre re-launched the series in his honor. The showings start at 10 a.m., so roll out of bed and head down to the State Theatre for an awesome morning of cartoons.
