Lennartz/Mullen Ticket Unveils Eleven Page Platform

Ponter/Kristobak wasn’t the only UPUA presidential ticket to hold an introductory campaign meeting in Willard last night. Directly across the hall, current UPUA Vice President Courtney Lennartz and Katelyn Mullen also held a kick-off meeting to reveal their 11-page platform.

After Lennartz and Mullen briefly introduced their experience and backgrounds, they dove into their platform which is broken up into areas of Academics, Housing, Student Life, and Campus and Community Outreach.

To begin, Lennartz explained how she will continue to strive for the 6 Points of Change presented to UPUA by her counterpart T.J. Bard earlier this year. Some other various ideas that Lennartz introduced involve increased student communication with state and federal legislators and installing smoothie bars within reasonable distance of workout facilities.

Lennartz and Mullen would also like to see increased access and exposure regarding the Board of Trustees.

“We want to make sure students have access to the Board of Trustees,” she said.

Additionally, Lennartz and Mullen want to feature Trustee members at casual forums, similar to the recent fireside chats hosted by President Rodney Erickson.

You can read their entire platform on their webesite.

The first UPUA presidential candidate debate is this upcoming Monday at 8 P.M. in Alumni Hall. Onward State will have more comprehensive profiles and analysis of the Lennartz/Mullen ticket as election day approaches on March 28.
