SC Spikes to Host “Prevent Child Abuse Night”

The State College Spikes, the single-A affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates, will hold a “Prevent Child Abuse Night” at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park on Wednesday night. Tickets for the ballgame are only $10, with $7 benefiting Prevent Child Abuse Pennsylvania as the Spikes take on the Auburn Doubledays, a single-A affiliate of the Washington Nationals.

Prevent Child Abuse Pennsylvania became a chartered chapter of Prevent Child Abuse America in November 2010. According to their website, the organization’s work focuses on public awareness of child abuse, public participation in prevention of child abuse, public policy and advocacy to promote prevention, utilization of evidence-based prevention programs for children, caregivers, and parents.

The game will feature $2 medium sodas, dollar hotdogs throughout the entire game, and half-off select draft beers between 6-8 p.m.

For more information about the event, view Prevent Child Abuse PA’s flyer for the game. To purchase tickets call 484-446-3038 or visit this website. Tickets purchased online will be available to pick up outside the Spikes team box office beginning at 5:30 p.m.
